People
Sanctions, adverse media, directorships, disqualifications, insolvencies and statutory registers, searched in English and Danish. Every deduction is itemised against the finding that caused it, and a person signs the report before it reaches you.
The decision this serves
The question is rarely whether a candidate looks right in an interview. It is whether there is anything in the public record that a regulator, a journalist or a board will find later, and whether you can show you went and looked before you appointed.
Previo answers both. Every finding dated and linked to the record it came from, and an audit trail that shows the check was run, when, and against what.
What we search
Each source establishes something specific. Here is the whole set, and what each one can tell you.
| Source | What it establishes | Reach | Scored |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identity resolution | Which public identities and accounts belong to the subject, so every later search lands on the right person | Open and unindexed web | Never |
| Sanctions & watchlists | Whether the subject appears on a consolidated sanctions or watchlist, with near-matches surfaced for review | OFAC, UN, UK OFSI, EU | Yes |
| Adverse media | Published reporting of criminal, regulatory and reputational matters, dated by the event rather than the article | Several engines, EN and DA | Yes |
| Corporate registry | Directorships and shareholdings, including roles that ended and companies that failed during tenure | UK, Denmark | Yes |
| Statutory registers | Director disqualifications, insolvency and bankruptcy notices, official gazettes | UK, Denmark | Yes |
| Forum intelligence | Open-forum mentions, corroborated before they can move the score | Open forums | Corroborated only |
| Property registry | Publicly recorded property interests, and the associated people they surface for a second pass | Denmark | Yes |
| Profile capture | A professional profile and its timeline, held as context for the document comparison below | Open and unindexed web | Never |
| Identity verification | A verified legal name and date of birth that anchors every search. No civil registration number is requested or received | Denmark, MitID | Never |
| Document comparison | Whether a submitted CV is internally consistent, and consistent with the captured profile and the registered roles | Submitted documents | Never |
The second pass
A first pass finds what is filed against a name. The interesting structures are rarely filed against the name you were given.
Where the first pass surfaces a spouse, a business partner or a family member with a material connection, Previo runs a second, cross-referenced pass over them. That is the standard vector for nominee arrangements and for value parked one step away from the subject. It is the part manual vetting almost never reaches.
How the output reads
The report is the product. The number is the shorthand.
A subject begins at 100 and every deduction is itemised, so you can trace the number to the finding and the finding to the source. Thresholds move with the seniority of the role: a public-office appointment clears at a higher score than an individual contributor. The bands below are the default rather than the scale.
No material findings. Released after review, like every report.
Findings that warrant a conversation with the candidate before a decision.
Sanctions matches, serious regulatory action, or a pattern incompatible with the role.
Consent and lawful basis
The candidate receives a secure invitation and gives consent before anything runs, and consent is revocable at any point before release. Processing is conducted under GDPR Article 6(1)(f), legitimate interest, with a Legitimate Interests Assessment available on request and subject access requests handled as a matter of course.
Retention matches your regulatory obligations. The audit trail travels with the report, which is what you want when someone asks, two years later, what you knew and when.
